Kim's Bio

Kim Twomey has worked in the dental community for 28 years. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has practiced in periodontal and general dental offices throughout Southeastern CT. She has held multiple positions in the dental profession including  office manager, study club developer, patient liaison, insurance coordinator, and pharmaceutical professional educator. Her drive to know how the body works and heals as well as her desire to work with people in a comfort-driven profession led her to study Massage Therapy in 1999.

Kim Twomey is the owner of Touch of Tranquility. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Oncology Massage Specialist, Teacher, and Healer. Kim is State Licensed and is a member of the The Society for Oncology Massage. She is also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Kim has been in private practice since 2001. She is a graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington, CT. She was also an instructor at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Groton, CT. Mentoring students and assisting instructors brought her great joy. Her current work includes oncology, pregnancy, general relaxation, sports, and deep tissue massage. Kim sees a wide range of clients in her practice, including those with cancer diagnosis and treatment, anxiety, depression, migraine headaches, TMJ discomfort, arthritis, chronic pain, autoimmune diseases, and general muscle tension. Kim takes a personal interest in keeping people moving. When she is not caring for her clients, she can be found outdoors or spending time with  her family, including her two Golden Retrievers.
